Collection includes letters from George D. Tidwell, an Air Force training officer at the Arctic Survival School, to his first wife Air Force nurse Lt. Violet Jackson. Tidwell's letters describe life at the school, his varying duties, his frustrations with those in command, and his affections towards Jackson. In addition are three photograph albums containing a total of six-hundred and twenty photographs. The first two albums belong to Lt. Jackson and document her service in the 3700th Station Medical Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas as well as her tour in Europe and her time at the Macon Hospital School of Nursing in Georgia. The last photo album belongs to Lt. Jackson's second husband Clay Kemp. Kemp's album details his time at the USNAB Agana on Guam where he worked as a Navy surgical assistant. Also included two U.S. Air Force telegrams, Lt. Jackson's U.S. Army Medical Field Service course certificate, an Air Force Reserve inventory questionnaire, Air Force Reserve qualification paperwork, and Stephen Tidwell Baptism certification.

This collection consists of editorial cartoons drawn by Clifford "Baldy" Baldowski during his career at the Augusta Chronicle and the Atlanta Constitution. Subject content relates to international, national, state and local (Augusta and Atlanta-Fulton County) politics and to society in general, and features such topics as individual politicians, world leaders, the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam conflict, and the Cold War. Over 2,500 cartoons are available through the Digital Library of Georgia.

Dean Rusk was U.S. Secretary of State from 1961 to 1969. He also served in the Department of State (1947-1952), was president of the Rockefeller Foundation (1952-1960), and was a professor of international law at the University of Georgia's School of Law. Rusk's papers document his career in these areas and his role as a U.S. foreign policy expert and include correspondence, speeches and testimony, press files, and subject files.

The collection consists of eleven commercially-released interviews of Dean Rusk conducted in 1987 by Edwin Newman for the Southern Center for International Studies and one copy of The Seventh Annual Report of the Secretaries of State, 1989: "American Foreign Policy: The Challenges, The Opportunities, The Dangers." In the interviews, Rusk discusses growing up in Georgia, his experiences in the State Department, and his views on the war in Vietnam, the Nuclear Age, and U.S.-Soviet relations throughout the Cold War. The Seventh Annual Report of the Secretaries of State includes a roundtable discussion by former U.S. Secretaries of State on the subjects of East Germany, the Cold War, the Soviet Union under Mikhail Gorbachev, Nuclear Proliferation, and the Tiananmen Square incident in China.
